The dealer was closing when I left and they told me to call the Roadside Assistance number.

Personally, I wouldn't give a damn if the dealership was closing when I just spend $40 large on a car. If that was a halfway decent dealership, the manager himself would've come out to at least pick you up from the side of the road. I'm sure that they also have a contract with a local towing company.

He waited 3 1/2 hours and din't call and ask why no one had shown up? Yeah and I have a bridge in Brooklyn I'll sell you.

I did call three time, but just like baseball, three strikes your out.

The oil cooler line came off, so all of the oil was pumped out.

Interesting....

I'm still having a hard time understanding this. How does an oil cooler line just pop off? If all the oil poured out, the engine would have been knocking or damage would have occurred.

What did the engineers from Detroit and the Bowling Green Assembly Plant have to say about this??

Who was the selling dealer?

Timd,

I support your position. You buy a new expensive corvette and then you drive it home and you have OIL everywhere and then a shutdown?

Day one of taking ownership and the car breaks-down?
I wouldn't been happy either!

I'm reading alot of the forums and personally have experienced major problems with the new C6. (I sold my first c6 coupe, due to problems such as "crankpulley" and now dumping my C6 'vert due to "first-gear" issues). I've given up on the C6 and I've lost some major money and time with all this.

The selling dealer was Al Serra, the plant is investigating the issue. The dealer said that 4 people from the plant have follow-up with them to find out what happen. The dealer was very helpful and did what ever they could to help me.

Since they've been helping you so far, I think this will be resolved to your satisfaction.

Sometimes, things like this happen. I think we just get a little madder when it happens to a brand new car because it's a major purchase. I mean, if we bought a pair of jeans for $20 and found out they were ripped, we would be annoyed but the reaction wouldn't be like it is in this situation.

I am gussing that you probably got your C6 from Les Stanford nuff said.

Al Serra has at least 13-15 dealerships across the USA. I dont condone what they did to Timd but there service has been excelent on my Corvettes.

I had 3 hose connections come loose on a 1992 Eldorado, 2 on the transmission cooler and 1 on the oil cooler. Assembled in Mexico, crimp ferrule was compressed with the hose less than 1/8 into the ferrule, should be about .75 deep. It started life by dumping it's freon with less than 10 miles on the odometer. Had the car for 10 years and 180,000 miles, other then the hose connections it was a great car.

For sale

How much do you want for the bridge? :D

Seriously, I would've called the dealer. I'm sure that if this story were true 99.9% of the dealers would've immediately sent someone out to pick you and the vehicle up.

But your money were your mouth is, the car is for sale 45K and you can be the first guy at the dealer in the morning.

Hose

So what actually broke?

The hose came out of the oil cooler. The car is for sale if you want to buy it. Only 450 miles 45K.
