So..."smithmotorworks"...tell us how an LS7 with two turbos making 700 at the wheels would possibly be "reliable" with no engine mods other than a set of valve springs and pushrods.

If that were true, the builder would have put forged pistons with a lower compression ratio in the engine and would have put a custom calibration in the ECM.

After reading your LS7 story "Relentless Pursuit of Power", I'm in total agreement, Hib! That engine is just about at the END of it's design capacity, I'd leave it stock and do a driver training course instead! I can't believe how much metal they took out of it and how it lives through all the thrashing out there. As for the aftermarket, I'd go with Lingenfelter, and that would do.

Yikes!

Almost 50% more power at the wheels than a stock Z06 with the only internal mods being upgraded valve springs and push rods? I wouldnt be planning for any longevity out of that engine if you want to use all that power on a regular basis ( not that most people have the available track time or long, clear roads to make use of that anyway). How many lbs of boost is it pushing?
