2017 Corvette; Anyone else told that the new oil put in 2019's CANNOT be put in a '17 or it voids your warranty???

I was told today that I could ONLY have 5W30 or if tracking the old 15W50 and NOT the new 40 weight oil
Mobil 1 used in the 2019's or it would void my warranty?? I thought the engines were the same and we would have our choice after February when ALL dealers would have the new oil in stock to use either one?? This is Quality Chevrolet in Escondido, CA??

I would call GM customer service (number in the owners manual) and explain to them what you were told. It is important to have them e-mail you their findings.
