40th Anniversary 3 min wait after first start attempt.

Help! My 1993 Ruby convert has an intermitent problem. When entering the car and trying to start the engine nothing happens. Waiting 3 minutes another try will then start the engine. This happens with both keys and the passive entry system active or not. Any one have a fix for this or a way to avoid the problem?

Try entering the car from the passenger side. If it starts you have a problem with the wireing in the drivers door. Possibly the connection at the key lock.

Thank you. The problem is you never know when it will happen. Maybe once every 10 to 20 starts. The Chevy dealer thinks it is in the ignition switch about a $450.00 fix with no assurance it will solve the problem. I will try entering from the passenger door for a while to see if it still happens.
