Anyone know the difference between the 327 up to 1967 and the 1968 327?

One big difference is the 68 was the only 327 with a large-journal crankshaft such as what the 350 used.

If I remembered correctly some if not all blocks, were drilled for 4 bolt mains?

No 327 had a block with four-bolt main bearing caps. The 302 the first to get four-bolt mains during the 68 model year. The '70 LT1 was the first 350 to have four-bolt mains.

327 block casting #s?

Strange casting # 3955618. Any idea for what engine or engines?

Sorry , I meant casted not drilled.

Sorry I meant casted to accept 4 bolt main caps.

according to nastyz28.com/sbchevy, block casting 3955618 is a 68 -69 327 with 4 caps. no hp given

"nasty28.com" is wrong.

There were no production 327s built by GM with four-bolt main baering caps. All production 327s used 2-bolt mains.

Sure, it may be possible to modify those blocks with four-bolt caps on the center three mains, but none came from the factory that way.

The 386, 618, and 010 blocks all had 4-bolt main applications in '69 Corvette 350's.
