I'll pull the plugs and check the gap this weekend probably.

The car actually idled perfect with the old plugs. I guess the ecm compensated for the bad plugs to make it run decent.

But can just one plug not gapped correctly cause this?

You might check the egr valve and make sure it is not leaking.. or you don't have drippy injectors at idle one or two bad ones will really throw things off as the ecm is using an average and does not know if one cylinder is rich and another lean.. It will just change things so the one oxygen sensor reads right rather than know if all cylinders are the same.. benn down that road many times.. One rich injector will make seven lean cylinders... I would think if tps voltage is off at idle it might not think the car should be idling yet not an out of range voltage to throw a code..

If it does not smooth out when you bring it off idle to around 2000 I'll bet even money it's either wires crossed resulting in improper firing order or a bad wire. Yes you can get a "bad" new wire. Also had problems with getting a bad plug. You never know how many times those things were dropped or banged before you got them.

If it smoothes out when you rev it a bit that usually indicates a vacuum leak. Check vacuum hoses as you may have loosened one when messing around under the hood.

Just curious.....have you checked the plugs or have you fixed the problem somehow?

I'm curious. Are you still trying to solve a problem that started back in March of 05?

Hahaha :L probably not, seeing that Shane hasn't been online here for almost 2 years now. (I used my super-duper-moderator-powers to check his activity dates.) I think he ended up selling his car after his marriage. Newborn was on the way. If I'm thinking of the same person...

BTW...the answer to his very first question would be "Yes". :D
