50th Anniversary

Does anyone out there know the production figure for the 2003 50th Anniversary Corvette? I've heard all kinds of crazy figures like 1/3 of total production & 6,000 and so on.

I've heard 1/3 of total production (~12,000 cars), but I'm thinking Rick Daniels can shed more light on this. If it is 12,000 cars it makes the premium prices dealers are charging ludicrous--a torch red coupe would be rarer than an Anniversary edition.
