i was looking at a 52mm throttle body for my i think stock L98 1986 corvette. will i see and added horses from it, or is the stock 48mm letting in enough air for a stock engine.

In one word No. If you had a better flowing intake, heads, cam, exhaust, then yes you would see some benefits. The stock TPI unit is very resctrictive. Stick with the 48

I would expect no gain at all.

Stock flows more cfm than the engine can ever use anyway.

Save your $300 and put it into something else. That 48 will feed a 350 just fine. Put that money into some large tube runners, port your plenum and the intake. That's much better spent going that way.

boy theres so many after market things that clame more horse power for our C4 that don't do anything!!! i already wasted $25 on the airfoil to hear it dosen't do anything too? what else is a waste of money? should post a list some were!!!

Not just C4's but I don't know if having a larger TB than stock will do much even for the LT and LS motor Corvette's.

I've always been of the opinion that you have to start at the back bumper with engine mods. Exhaust, headers, heads, intake, and carb/injector in that order. If you can't take out the trash, you can't feed it more.

Very insightful.... goes along with my line of thinking as well. Always working with the "big picture" in mind goes a long way too...

That sounds Jedi Master insightful like!:D

I'll have to remember that one for next time. It just makes too much sense.

It's like drinking beer from a funnel. It looks cool, but after all, you really are bound by the size of your throat. ;)
