54 steering column color

I am trying to find out the color of the steering column in the engine compartment of my 1954 Corvette. Is is the same color as the column and the steering wheel in the passenger compartment?

What color/type company/etc would I use to match the column now?

It shouild be RED just like the part that is in the cock pit.

Mike's right. The red will be the same gloss as the steering wheel.
