Corvettes with A4's should come with padded steering wheels so
so when you get bored and fall asleep :z you don't hurt your head when you hit it. :duh

Just kidding :grinshot

hey there,
just dont let that 6-speed keep you from waving:w in hawaii the wave is almost extinct, most of the waves i get are from the older generation vettes, whats up,me and one other guy seem to be the only c5 drivers wave.maybe its a security thing,im single,so i wave a this nice lady driving a later model c4,see damn near got in a wreck trying to avoid me and shoots me look, like your crazy.maybe, but you can still wave sister, later,Todd.:D

I'm only kidding .... The A4 is an amazing transmission … infact I have a buddy that has a C5 with a 3500 stall converter and 3.42’s in the rear …… it’s a real nice setup and very fast:beer :w

hey RHill,
im sure your friend has a cooler, but other than that is the tranny stock(internals)?does he 1/4 mile the car,im trying to determine if i should get the trans upgraded,or if it can handle it,i would use street tires.im thinking if i have to pat to have it rebuilt,i might as well use it till it breaks.however it will cost 500 bucks to install,if it goes blows, thats 500 down the drain so i dont know.thanks for your input, later,Todd.

This is a link to a local tuner,They had a dyno day last year and I had my a4 dynoed,They have built a C5 with an automatic that just dipped into the nines, Anybody into 1/4 mile racing has got to understand a car driven to the track and getting into the 9,s is INSANE!

Here is the link watch the video of the 9:88 run

Autos can be strong AND FAST

hehe,
yes it does take alot to get to 9s,the a4 also has the highest top speed.but that has been mentioned many times already.good times, later,Todd.

I hadn't heard the A4's had the higher top speed but I guess this is due to the numericaly lower gears you have in A4's. regardless how many people on this board do you think ever push it to their cars top end capabilities?

I for one know I don't because the car is much more capable then I think I am so I leave the razors edge for other more hearty soulds then I.

With that being said have you touched your top end yet?

hey Bishop,
i went 145 once, and 125 when i get in that occasional highway ricer run.going down the freeway, the race is on,car downshifts, look in mirror,'is other car racing'?then into 3rd and 125 is there already.they will be building a motorsports complex here next year,3 different tracks.one of them being a 1.75 mile tri-oval with banked turns(degree unknown)they will try to lure nascar to have some exabition races.well every couple of months, they will let street cars (that pass inspection and sign a waive)go as fast as you can go,were is that damn waiver,oh,the tracks are not done yet:D i will make a video.the run flats will have to go.later,Todd.

Hey Bishop,

I did it about 2 months ago with the LT1 and I hope not to do it again, at last not with the 2.59 rear end! ( long story, see the "Power increases or waste of Money" thread)

I swear the speedometer was still raising (too slow but raising) the vette was still speeding up wen I quit. The needles in oil & coolant where marking both top temps and I had to let it go because I though the engine was going to blowout. I did not feel nothing first but 5 minutes after that my legs started shaking.

I get scared every time I think of it because if every thing is right next time maybe I will try to get those 2 or 3 more miles with out the a/c on.

I believe this is a stupid thing to do but I think is some kind of speed adiction. Who knows?

To avoid that kind of speed I must get that 3.54 rear end fast! (I have the 2.59)

See you,

George

Six speed

If you're driving in traffic where you need to stop and go, then it's stupid to get a 6 speed. If you're going to just use it to drive around, as a pleasure car to car shows... then six speed all the way. Also, in resale, not that it matters, the six speed will be sold for much more. We are looking for a 1966 Pontiac GTO and we have only found 2 six speeds, and a couple automatics. The six speeds get about 1.5-2 times the amount as the automatics.
