65 327/300hp oil filler seal?

hi, i'm wondering if there is suppose to be some sort of seal, rubber or cork, in the chrome cap for my oil fill..anyone know for sure?...thanks

pretty sure cork, not so sure you get the chrome cap with a 300, would need to pull out my TIM&JG

Yup, 327/300: Chrome cap, cork insert. The cork covers the entire inside of the cap. It is not just a cork ring.

I believe that 300HP caps are painted. oWEN

Filler tube is painted black on 65 327-300 with chrome cap.
