I was going to go pick up a new set of R43 plugs for my 65 327 this afternoon but read on the thread below about stepping up in heat range to R44. Should I do this or stick with the R43's?

Also, what is the suggested gap for either the R43 or R44's?

Thanks in advance!!!

FireFly,

Unless you spend a lot of time at high at high RPM on the track pr cruising on the highway R43's will look like this:

I recommend stepping up to R45 - same car and they looked like this:

Almost forgot - I'm pretty sure the gap is .035

no track time and limited hy time and YUP- those look like mine!! I'll try the 45's- any suggestion on gap?

btw- Thanks for the quick response. Heading out the door in a bit to pick up the plugs and a new delco oil filter.

Sorry about the last post- did not notice you had listed the gap at the bottom. Thanks again!!

allcoupeup has it correct and right on point. The R43 is TOO cold.:upthumbs

Just changed the oil and put in fresh R45's- man is she running great now!!! There was a lot of junk built up on the R43's.

Thanks again for the great info!
