1966,and a 1962 thats almost complete
I have an original owners manual(I was told it was original but I am realley not sure if it is or not ) for my 1966 car st louis body build date of oct 28th of 1965

So my question is does anybody know when the cut off date would have been for the secound edtion? Meaning should my car have the first edtion or the secound edtion and how do I tell the differences between the two?

My 66 its build date is the beginning of Oct 1965 and the manual that came with the car was the first edition.

IH2LOSE,

I'm a long time "lurker" that finally registered to share some insights with you regarding this question. About 7 years ago, I complied info & pictures to create a small website dedicated to the 1966 Corvette ... Too bad I seem to have forgotten more than I remember.

Anywho- I believe there is sufficient info to answer you question about the differences between the first & second edition. Check out this section: http://www.corvette.net/owners.htm and pay attention to item numbers 5 --> 8. Seemz the text section on temperature gauges was adjusted to allow for "hot" running Vettes ... Like our big blocks! ;-)

In regardz to the exact date change between the two editions, I honestly don't recall ... But my owner's manual is original and my '66 Vette has a trim tag date of C-15 (http://www.corvette.net/tech-13.htm) which is a few weekz after your B-28.

Hope this helpz,
Jack

Jack,

Welcome to the Corvette Action Center. :)

Welcome officially to the CAC now. I guess instead of a lurker I'm a wannabe. Someday I'll be posting with a full scale corvette in the profile. I learn tons of info from the members here.:Steer
