As I'm putting the finishing touches on my newly restored 67' roadster I need some advice on the following......

how can I improve the lustre on the original chrome/aluminum beauty rings? It's been suggested that I not use 0000 steel wool. Chrome wheel polish didn't
improve appearance. I've been told a polishing wheel would do the trick.
Your comments please....... and thanks!

The trim rings aren't chrome or aluminum - they're polished stainless steel; they'll respond to normal stainless polishing techniques (pedestal-mounted buffer, varying grades of rouge, etc.).

Anyone know where to find 0000 steel wool?
I've looked everywhere here in MA withouth luck.
That includes CAP and related type shops as well
as Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Lowes, etc.

Wow! Good question. I've had mine for years when I used to
refinish furniture. I haven't needed to replenish lately. Do I
have a valuable commodity??

Thanks John Z...... you've confirmed my suspicion. I'll look for someone
nearby that has a polishing wheel. kgmc50
