I'm interested in a 67 L89 that was written about in Aug 02 Car and Parts Corvette by Thomas Glatch. He said the car was ordered by Ed Cole for Ed Pohl and delivered to Frank Diver Chevrolet Wilmington Delaware. If anyone knows about car would appreciate your input.

does anyone know if there is a list of documented L89's anywhere?

General Motors has never released a list of L89 Corvettes, so any such list would be based on documentation by individual owners, and of course would be suspect at best.

There's at least one red 67 L89, advertised extensively by a Corvette dealer in Nebraska in the late 80's, accompanied by several pieces of paperwork, including a build sheet, which is absolutely bogus. Of the 2 original 69 ZL1 Corvettes, there are at least 3 today, one known to be original and 2 more supposedly documented. Rare special interest cars bring out bogus paperwork and histories frequently. With today's state of the art level of duplicating build sheets, protecto plates, block stamping, etc, I'd be VERY cautious in getting real interested in any L88, L89, ZL1 type car without a concrete knowledge of the history.

What kinda of dollars are you spending?? Go on ebay and do a search of completed auctions just recentley two or more cars were up for sale.there was alot of comment on the auctions at another online forum on the two auction carsA link to one of the ebay L89

Ahhh, you guys are too suspicious! These cars are only seem to be rare when, in reality, there's many 67- L88s & L89s to be had. I think those 16 and 20 numbers that keep getting press are just estimates by someone who wanted to keep the numbers low. I'll bet these hundreds of them out there! Besides, documents can be faked, cars can be cloned, blocks can be restamped- it's all a big game.

Now, if you want rare, I've got this 1973 which used to be a ZL1 (honest!!) but I threw that damn aluminum engine out- too much horsepower so I could never get 'er to hook up and it burned too much gas. Yeah, I stuck an L82 into her- much easier to drive now!
