'69 Carb opinions?

My '69 350/350 has a Carter AFB, but the choke assembly is missing. I have found the thermo coil, but cannot find a connecting rod.

Is it possible to update the carb to an electric choke without replacing? Does it make sense to do so in the interest of reliability in the cold New York climate?

Any other ideas?

Thanks for your thoughts!

I have a new Carter carb which works great. The Carter carb is now basically the same as the Edelbrock. You can use Edelbrock parts on the carb. Now I don't know if your original carb will accept modern replacements. I would check with Edelbrock about interchangeability and see if you can use their modern electric choke on your carb. Or you can purchase a Carter electric choke from Summit Racing.
