is there more than 1 place to locate the VIN tag? the one i see is replacement tag. it's a 72.

There's a partial VIN on the engine and transmission. There's also a VIN stamping on the top surface of the frame above the driver's side rear wheel.

There is only one VIN tag - driver's windshield post visible from the outside. If what you see is a replacement tag, you need to determine who issued the replacement tag and under what circumstances. Usually replacement tags come from DMVs and law enforcement after the car has been stolen and recovered.
