Doing something I've never done before and not sure how to proceed. I'm having the seats out of my '72 coupe recovered this weekend. I'm not having much luck getting the shoulder belt removed from the seat pass-thru pocket in the seat back. The metal tongue on the end of the belt has a plastic cover that keeps it from coming out of the seat. It appears that belt has to be removed from the retractor and then the belt and cover pulled thru the back of the seat. Looking thru my repair reference material doesn't cover belt removeal that I can see.

Thanks

On my '73, there is a plate on the back of the seat and once that is removed, the metal end with the plastic piece will come out.

My problem was getting the plastic buckle cover thru the front metal piece. Al Knoch is installing the new seat covers, and his guys were able to get the belt out by removing the front & rear trim pieces and snaking the belt out. :happyanim: Now to get the belts off to Snake Oyl to have them redone.

Thanks for the reply.
