73 L-82 Factory Alarm

Hey Guys, I haven't been on in a while, but I remember seeing some threads about alarms. Don't remember what they were about since the alarm on my 73 wasn't a priority at the time. Well, now it is. Here's the Deal.
All my activator switches work ( I can hear the relay close when I open each door or the hood). Current goes to the alarm horn.(verified by voltmeter attached to horn wires). Horn works when taken off the car and jumped across a battery, but does not work when mounted in place. Running out of ideas!! Anybody have any thoughts? Thanks in advance

Try testing the earth connection by bridging direct back to the battery if it works then check why the earth is not grounding.

Probably the horn is not grounded to the chassis, very common fault.
