Outer door handle will not open door. Inner handle works. Pivot pin on outer door handle rod came loose from door latch.

Any suggestions on how to reattach the pivot pin to the latch without disconnecting inner latch rods and removing latch from door? Also does pivot pin have clip on it to hold it on door latch?

Thanks!

It is a short rod attached to the door handle in the upper end and the latch in the lower end. Both ends has a similar clip to keep it in place, there is just enough space to reattach it if you remove your door panel. You may have to adjust the window up and down to get some more space.

At least I found some pictures:

Thanks for the reply 69 coupe. Was able to buy a couple of clips from local body shop. Tied the clip to fish line so as to not loose it, and dropped it down the top window opening. Had someone with small hands slide the clip over the door latch and reattach the pivot pin. Door is working fine now. Just needed someone with very small hands.

Thanks again
