74 alarm woes

Howdy
My first post! The fuse that works the lighter,interior lights and the alarm keeps blowing. any ideas? Day two of my New 74!

You've got a "short circuit" somwhere. Why do you think it's the alarm? Could be cig lighter or any of the courtesy lights/switches. Chuck

mike .go into the center console and disconnect the wire on the lighter. that is the item most prone to short out..

Thanks for the reply..Well the alarm does not work so I figgured that the alarm must be the culperate. I will get the ohm meter and multi meter out and report back! Me and electric is like a hog looking at a watch! I put a 25 instead of a 20 amp fuse in the fuse box and all the systems worked and the fuse did not blow. I removed the 2o so that I do not damage the system. not sure where to go next!
