My first reaction is to disconnect the plug under the seat to see if the problem goes away. If not then my guess would be a short somewhere in the lighting circuit and the wire going to the light for the Seat Belt Red Light.
I have an 81 so they should be similar, I'll take a look at the schematics and wiring diagrams tomorrow after work, but, try to disconnect the plug for the seat belt alarm, it should have a stationary plug on the undercarriage of the seat and one coming up from the floor board, unplug it there and see what happens, be sure to check both seats. Keep us posted with your results and we'll go from there
