Hi. I jut got my 84 Coupe and need some guidance. Every once in a while when you start her up cold or after it has cooled down it starts and stalls then when u go to restart it it cranks likes it's flooded. It will then either start or I hafta get out and pull the injector harnesses off to let it "clear" out. I have not gone thru the car yet but am planning to. Some observations I have made since having it is that it doesn't really heat up alot. The other day after driving it in warmer weather it got up to 202 degrees for a brief second then fell back to high 180's to low 190's and stayed there. Today it was cool out and it was all I could do to get it to 160 which I believe is where the ECM goes into closed loop. I would like to hear any thoughts you fellow Vette owners have on this. It does not cause any major problems as when it does get warm it idles like a baby. Also notice the fan kicks on at about 180-185. I did order today a new stock chip for it and got the factory thermostat also. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like someone put a 160 TStat in there or none at all...I'll bet once you put a warmer T stat in it runs a thousand times better. These babys like it a little warm. I would also change the fuel filter (just for kicks) Its under the drivers side door on the frame. Check for codes, clean the IAC (Idel Air Control) Check the timing (6 TDC) Check and set the TPS (throddle position
sensor)...That is the free stuff...You may also want to change the O2 sensor and the Temp Sensor (the one on the front of the pass side head. ....Allot of instruction for the above mentioned is at this site...worth joining ...its free http://www.crossfire.webhop.net/
