I have a couple of tranny questions. First I was out on the hiway bein bad and tryin my Vette out. When the car got to about 113 mph I let up a touch on the gas from WOT and the car went into 4th gear. However when I tried to put my foot back down to the floor(about maybe 1/2 inch travel left in pedal) the car dropped right back down to 3rd gear. Now according to the rpm calculator at www.ondoperformance.com with my 3.07 gear and 26" Stock size tires at 113.5 mph I should be turning 4500 rpm which last time I checked was where the 2-3 shift occured which I figure should be where 3-4 happens also. My question is shouldn't my car have stayed in 4th gear or is it possible my TV cable went out of adjustment and can someone explain to me the TV cables relation to shift points? I readjusted it this morning but hafta wait for a new roof as my glass came unglued at 116 mph yeasterday leaving me with just the roof frame. Also where can I find the numbers on the tranny to tell me whether it is a Vette tranny and not some junkyard Camaro unit? Also wanted to make mention of the fact that my tach filter is bad so I rely on my speedo to tell me what rpm I am pulling.

Thank Jo. I bookmarked your page. I am hoping c4c5specialist see this and can tell me more about decoding the tranny numbers I posted in a seperate topic. I just wanna make doubly sure it is not a vette unit before I tear into it.
