So I've got an 85 automatic, and when it shifts down so the engine is under a load, it misses. It is very noticeable. I've changed plugs, wires and fuel filter. I'm kind of stumped right now on what it is. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Paul

It feels just like a plug wire gone bad, but I just replaced them. Could it be bad fuel? I stablilized it before I put it away for the winter.

Check the wires and plugs, not unheard of to have a bad one of either.
Another thing to check is the injector coils. You may have one or two weak coils.
Use an ohm meter. Disconnect the wires and check. They should be about 16 ohms. Much lower and there could be a short making the coil weak and leaning out the mixture.

Thanks for the info. I think i might have found it. I unplugged the EGR vaccum line and plugged it off, and it seems to be running much better. I'll let you know if this fixes it after I get a few more miles on it.
