85 rear end

I was just wondering if you all could tell me if a 85 has a D36 or a D44 rear end.
Or if you could tell me where to find out the info.

Poke around on the blue bar up top where it says Tech center or portal there is a wealth of info there; if you can't find it someone with a C4 will be along to help you out

I think they had the 36 auto, and 44 std. Welcome to Hi-Tek

D36 for automatic, D44 for manual.

The Dana44 is the one on top. Many will tell you to look at the top of the case itself, not the 'batwing'. The 44 has two bolts near the top edges, while the 36 has a center bolt. This will be rather had to see when installed in the car.
