My 87 (targa) has an electrical problem. I get 3 intermittant symptoms, maybe related, maybe not. 1. The brake/tail lights occasionally blow a fuse. 2. The headlights fail to turn on, and 3. The dash volts reading jumps up to 18 momentarily. The last 2 seem to occur together.
It sounds like I have a wiring short somewhere but that probably doesn't explain why the alternator volt reading jumps up to 18.
Any suggestions on where to start troubleshooting?
