87 Turn Signals

I have owned my 87 white convertible for only 2 weeks and know just above zero about vettes in general. Having owned a 66 Mustang convertible for the last 24 years I finally came over to the dark side

The turn signals on the car do not work. If you try and use them no inicator light comes on on the dash. The emergency flashers work fine and I have replaced the flasher itself. I have read a little on the site about dash cluster problems, mine seems to work for the most part, although you can tell that it does go alternatly bright and dim just a little. Not sure if the two are related to some sort of ground problem.

Anybody else ever had this problem?

Let's get one thing straight first: You came to the light!
And this is the place to be for corvette questions...

Check the easy thing first, Turn Signal Fuses

You said you replaced the flasher module, are you sure it's the right one. I think there are two different one's, one for emergency flasher, and one for signals.

If you don't find the problem, I suggest getting a hold of 'Vigman', he is a member here at CAC. He has all the detailed manuals...

As for the comment (reminds me of the book "How To Win Friends and Influence People") we'll forgive you...You are probably still banging the sides of your head to get the rust-tang particles out.

Anyway...if you take the passengers side hush pad off (the plastic piece with the light in it above the footwell) wiggle on your back and look up near the side of the ECM. You will see a round flasher...poke it out with a long screwdricer or alike. It should have enough wire on it to pull down just below the dash.
