When I did mine The final sanding was 1500 grit wet sand and then used a metal polish I didnt have any swirls. There is 2000grit and probably finer you may want to try. I didnt put a clear coat back on my caps They still look good and I havent had to repolish them yet. I just need time to do the whole wheel to make them look as good as the caps

I did not use 1500 grit, just the 320. The 320 seemed to do the job as far as taking the stains off of the center cap. I did it very lightly. I do have 1500 grit, i will do a wet sand with that and then polish them. thanks
