I have a problem with my climate control.
Everything works good a/c and heat.
but after a while the display goes crazy.
All the Led lights start flashing and the the temp display either goes out or displays all different kinds of bars.
If I touch the off button the display goes back to normal for a while
During this time the setting which I have originaly set remains unchanged.

Please help

Don

Do you have the all-electronic temp control?
I have it on my 89 and there are no red-colored lights or bars.
There's just the green-colored fan speed (2 digits) and temp (2 digits), and the yellow lights indicating mode - off auto econ vent heat defrost.
Does this reflect your display ?

Yes, mine does the same thing... I've read somewhere that the contacts need to be cleaned. Who ever said that using a pencil eraser works just fine; unfortunately I've not had the time to test that out just yet.

Good luck!

Yup, mine does the same as well. Jus havent pulled it out of the dash...

Had the same problem with my 88. I did take the unit out and cleaned the contacts several times. Since the fix only lasted a short time I ended up buying a new unit from one of the big parts places (MAD, Ecklers, etc.). Can't remember which one. That finally fixed the problem. Give the contact cleaning a try though. It's definitely cheaper and may work for you.

This has happend to me a couple of times as well but not all the time. So far it saeems to clear itself with a couple of cycles.:)

PULL THE UNIT OUT AND CLEAN THE CONNECTOR CONTACTS WITH A RUBBER PENCIL ERASURE. PUT IT BACK NICE & TIGHT, WORKS GOOD, LAST A LONG TIME! BEEN THERE, DONE THAT! LATER.
P.S. I'M TALKING ABOUT THE DISPLAY PANEL ITSELF.

you guys are lucky...mine blows heat all the time!!

Thanks,
Pulled the unit out and cleaned the contacts
Everything works great now. Very easy thing to do
