when the vats cant read the key someone put a resister on the bottom and it read 1170 but the key reads 1136 is this the wrong resister
one more when you turn the key motor turns over but theres no fire or fuel pressure did check fuel pump its ok and when i open the door the security lite flashes

VAts

I know that the vats system is not exact. There is a range of resistors that will work with any given key. I also had a situation with a friends car where a duplicate key was made that was the wrong blank. When you turned the key the security light came on but the starter did not turn over. If your starter is turning over then I suspect it's close enough and you have something else going on.

Fixed

Glad to hear it's fixed plus advising what the solution was. So many times when something is fixed we never hear back on how it was fixed.

That is my biggest gripe with all forums. Recently was looking at a thread that was 20 to 30 posts long, with a lot of in-depth back and forth with the OP and various members that went on for a week or so. Finally the OP posts "problem solved" and no answer when a couple folks asked how he fixed it. If I was an Admin, that guy would have been tossed.
