Whether the car is warm or cold it turns over perfectly, but it doesn't start right away like it use too. It cranks over rapidly, and after about 5 - 10 seconds starts up. If I shut it off, and it starts right away. I did this about 10 times in a row and it started every time. Start it let it stablize and shut it off and then turn it right back on. So then I let it sit for 5 minutes and it cranked and cranked and then fired. I shut it off and it started right up again. So far this year, I've done this to the car. Since I'm in Minnesota and store the car all winter. I had all the fluids changed, oil, coolant, brakes, transmission, rearend. The opti-spark (all rusted inside) and water pump (bearing was shot) all new plugs and wires. What should I try next? I don't have a fuel presure gauge. Is it hard to replace the fuel presure regulator? Are they expensive? Should I try that next? :duh

Did they clean or replace the opti harness? If opti rusted up inside it is likely that the pins on the opti-side of the harness could be corroded as well. This harness connector, while sealed to the harness well, is OPEN to the inside of the Opti. This is a design problem me thinks. This condition will cause starting problems like you are having. Of course, like anything else, it could be many other causes, but the Opti harness is suspect because of the moisture intrusion into the opti from the water pump. Any more codes?

By the way, is your Opti vented. I met up with a guy who owned a '94 Competition Yellow. It was displayed on the concourse at the 50th Anniversary. He said it was stock, he had had Opti problems, but for the life of me I could not locate the vent hose OR where it hooked into the intake.

I finally went and bought a fuel pressure gauge and tested my car. It had 40 pounds of pressure and as soon as I shut it off, it dropped as fast as you can count down to zero! I replaced the fuel pressure regulator and now for the first time this season it's running right! The power it back and it's fun to drive again. The rough idle, and slight miss and hard starting. Along the way with the new optispark and water pump were also needed but not the whole problem. Now it's time to drive!:cool :Steer :Steer :Steer :Steer :Steer :Steer :Steer
