Looking for a 94-96 coupe auto in the 10-12k range. Prefer black interior, but definately Dont want red interior. Looking for an original owner with most service records. Is this doable at this price range or will I have to wait till winter is upon us. Prefer something within 2hrs of Central NJ

Still looking. Is there anything close to my needs out there????

Tough deal!!!!!!!!!

What you are looking for does not exist in the state of New Jersey.

Get a copy of Newsday, this is a long Island paper or go on line and search through their classifieds.

The best buys out there are in the C5 series and not on the C4's.

Dealing with a limited budget of 10-12 thou you will probably wind up with a problem or a vette with high mileage that needs tlc.

Get real and limit your search to a 92, maybe a 93 but if you are dealing with limited funds be very carefull.

Remember in this price range and the years you desire make sure you have bucks stashed away because you will need them.

Alan,

Thanks for the post. I could go higher on the price. I guess I should have updated my post.. I have seen a few ads with people asking 18-19 for coupes. I havent really called those since I felt the were asking dealer prices for a private party sale. I guess if I needed to pay that kind of money I would just ad a few dollars more and buy a c5 coupe in the low to mid 20's. I am just looking for something to drive to work a couple of days a week.

P.S. I think I PM you about your car on the other Forum.

Hi

If you have a set budget then l would look for the best available vette in your price bracket even if you have to go back to a 91.

The difference from 0-60 in actual time can only be told by a stopwatch. And here in New Jersey where can you go anyway without a speeding ticket. One ticket here and it can cost you up to $5000 over 3 years. The ticket itself is nothing but the all of the other surcharges are crazy.

And if you want to drive it to work a couple of days a week it really doesn't matter. In fact if you can park it in a safe place why don't you get a convert.

It might cost a little more but there is nothing like it. And you can now go back to an 89.

No matter what year you get you will love the feeling of a big V8. In my humble opinion l would not go back any further then an 89, not saying that any vette made before that is a bad choice.

What ever you do, do not buy an used vette without having it really checked out and a car-fax pulled. Do not get cheap!

Alan

Alan thanks for the info. I agree on your comment on CARFAX. I called 2 cars. Both owners said car was excellent condition . I asked for the vin to run a carfax and I never heard anything from either. I guess they were hiding something. I really like the look of a coupe better, besides I have a '71 ls-5 convert which is my joyride car. Driving with the top down gets old real fast for me at least. The only reason I dont sell it is that it is a super clean car that I know I will regret if I ever do. And my wife wont even get in the car with the top down. A coupe is so much better for my needs. I want a 94(dual airbags, better fuel injection, R-134) and will pay what the market demands.

Sincerely,

Ray

WTB 94 or up.

Ray, I am moving up to a C-5 and have a 96 Torch Red coupe with tan interior, sports seat, auto etc. Car is in great shape with 64,000 on the clock and runs great. Lots of other options along with new rubber all around, new battery. If you have any interest, I am in suburban Chicago and can send the VIN etc. If you want to make contact, my email is Randolph.Starck@ge.com. I am the second owner and have been doing the usual oil changes at 3000 etc for the last two years. Let me know if you have any interest.

Randy

Thanks for all the replies. I know I was looking for a coupe, but couldnt pass this one up. I just bout a 96 ce convert with both tops for 16,200. Car has 58k miles on it and in great shape.

The search is over!

All the luck in the world with your new vette, good buy! Being that we live in the same area, who are you going to use to maintain it?

Alan

Alan, Thanks for the kind words, who do you use? I do most of the work myself but in the event there is an issue I cannot handle it would be good to know someone in the area.

Circle Chevrolet

HI Raaizin

Keep in mind that l would only use them for dealer only situations. One of the service advisors is an ex member of the Corvette club that l belong to which is local.

Being that our vettes have so much computer gizmo's in them we have no choice.

When l first picked up my vette l brought it over to them and they did a full diagnostic on it and came up with various items that l would never have found.
They charged me for parts but very little for the labor.

I have the paperwork if you want to drift by over the weekend to take a look.

I'm right off Gordon's Corner rd going toward route 520 from route 9.

Alan

Alan, thanks for the info. I will probably do most of the work myself. If there is something that I cant do I will farm it out. You have been very helpful. By the way I live off Union Hill Rd. We Are paractically Neighbors. Save the wave
