My '96 has an inch and a quarter of shims on the right hand upper control arm. The left has almost as many. The car only has 65K on it. Was this a typical problem for the C-4 and exactly what's worn? Is it just a matter of replacing the bushings? The dealer says they can't get them.

First off a "Welcome" is in order. We have some really good Corvette experts here and hopefully one who can answer your question will check in here. My personal observation would be "something ain't right here." But I am by no means an expert.

That's completely "Normal" Dude!~!!:thumb

If the dealer says they can't get the shims,They are full of "Bull Shisky"............("They probly don't have a REAL Alignment Technician"):L

Shimming is how you set the Caster and Camber!:thumb:thumb

Find a REAL Alignment Specialist!~!! :D

I thought he said the dealer couldn't get the bushings. That would suck... :beer

Never could get the bushings from GM,You had to buy the complete control arm! :thumb
You could buy the ball joint, but not the bushings.:thumb:thumb

You can get after market urethane bushings though,If you want it to ride like a brick wagon! :D
