Looking under the front of a 96 LT1 Auto - I see about a 1" or so gap from the bottom of the front most radiator (the AC condensor I believe) and the tray or pan or whatever on the bottom. Behind it I can see the engine radiator.
That gap allows the collection of leaves, debris, plastic to go under the AC condenser and collect at the bottom of the radiator and pile up since it can't get out (the pan under neath holds it in).
I'm wondering about that gap:
* Was it intended to be open to allow add'l airflow under the AC condenser to reach the radiator(s) behind it?
* Should there be a seal in that gap such as foam or rubber?
* Is it an engineering oversign and there was not a seal? But things improve with a seal?
Thanks
