On my '96 my antenna was just fine. Well, one silly day I decided to just extend it all the way up with my hand as it seemed it wasn't going through its full range of motion. But it worked. Now it doesn't work. The motor sounds like it is working just fine but something is not engaging. My question is how much of a hassle is this going to be to get into? And I've got all the manuals so without looking just yet, is it fairly easy to follow in that?

Thanks Gang

There is a plastic cord with teeth on it inside that breaks. I just did mine. The job was not hard. Worst part was after the antena repair, getting the rubber plug where the wires travel inside in. The temp was low making the rubber plug hard to put in (and it does not help being 6' 230 lbs). I took it inside ran very hot water on it to soften, then some WD-40.

Antena works, radio plays, now if the DJ's would just stop playing Rap <G>

You may not have to pull the grommet to replace the nylon mast thingy. I was able to loosen the antenna housing from my car and drop it down far enough so that I could work on it, put in a new mast, and screw it back together. If you pull the grommet, you may never get it back in again.
