The Air Conditioning Compressor on my 92 LT1 started making a lot of noise (still blows cold), so I pulled the belt off, and as I expected the bearing feels really rough.

I found a link on youtube:

Denso 10PA clutch bearing replacement - YouTube

I doubt that's the exact compressor on my vette, but it looks pretty similar, and I've gotten to the point of removing the pulley by following his lead. My pulley definitely won't just pull off the shaft after removing the snap ring though. I'm reluctant to pry on it or anything until I'm sure mine comes apart the same way.

Can anyone verify the procedure on this? Also, can you recommend a vendor to replace the bearing?

Thanks!

I believe some of the national parts stores will lend tools to you for free.

After repairing your Vette's A/C compressor, please be sure to SAVE the WAVE! :w

Okay... The pulley and stator for the Ac clutch are held on with snap rings. It took a bit of tapping and coaxing, but both came off without using a puller. So far, the new clutch seems to have fixed it.

The only vendor I found to get an AC clutch kit from was Auto Zone.
