I own a 1986 coupe 34,000 miles with climate control when the A/C is on in auto mode the compressor kicks in and out every 2 seconds,i had the car back to the dealer where i bought it to have them look at it and of course everything was good.Freon level is normal and it does cool good but i noticed that when the fan speed is on 6 or lower thats when it happens above 6 and it stays on "the compressor " .Is there a climate control switching problem ? please help ,by the way this is a great web site with alot of very helpful info and great members
thanks

If your saying that the A/C system works correctly when the fan speed is set to 7 or above <the compressor cycles when it should, it gets nice and cold, it turns off and on when it reads the correct temp..etc> and goes hayware when set lower, or on Auto, then I'd say it's your A/C controler mod.
