My 67 Coupe has original a/c that doesn't blow cold. I don't want to change to upgraded stuff..anyone know of a shop in the MD/VA area that will service my original a/c with the old refrigerant?:confused

Also, does anyone have any experience with a product called Enviro-safe?

Dennis I am not sure of the product you said.I would suggest an upgrade to 134A.

I updated my 67 DeVille several years ago and have not had a problem since. But my caddy is far from factory correct.

With the price of 12 thru the roof I decided it was better to convert then have to deal with future problems of not having 12 available.

good luck

Sorry I just noticed you have a 67 427/400 I would being looking for a drop in replacement for R12 also with that car.I will ask around

Dennis,

check with KLJ Automotive - 410-760-4272 - the are on Dorsey Rd (MD 176) over close to BWI Airport - if Mike doesn't do it, am sure he can direct you to someone - he's been working on Vettes for 40 years - hot-rodder from way back

I spoke with Mike a few weeks back. My friend Rick Mandelson referred me to him and we had qute a talk. I don't know why I thought he was in upper Balt Co though. Knowing that he's as close as Dorsey Rd would make it easy. How about Tony down at your place? Think he has any experience with the original stuff?
Good luck with "Lady" on Saturday. I know Jack Evan's Chevrolet very well, I pass by there at least twice a month on my way to my parent's house outside Luray. I'm having carpet and hardwood installed Sat or I'd be there. Hope you can take some pics.

Dennis,

shout at Tony (301) 987-0565, as I am not sure if he does or not

will take pictures as I can, since I am having LADY judged, you usually got to stick close to your car when they start - will post results either late Saturday or for sure on Sunday

My 67 AC Blows as Cold as a new Vette

Just a matter of rebuilding the AC properly. My original 67 AC system is totally stock and runs very well on R12. A couple of summers ago right after I got my IF thermometer I measured it in the mid 90's and it blew 38 degrees at the lower vents. I knew it was cold because, I would close the lower vent when I had shorts on. It was just too frigid blowing. I have read that 1963-1968 Corvette original type freon hoses with separate clamps do not work well with R134 which is designed for hoses with crimped on fittings.
