My wife recently noticed a whisp of smoke coming out of the center AC duct. It looked like wire insulation heating up so I dropped the gage cluster and and turned on the ignition. 5 mins, 10 mins, 20 mins...no smoke. Then I started the engine. In about 10 mins, I noticed some smoke...but it was very light colored, almost white. I looked in every wire bundle I could find. Nadda! While I was on the floor on the passenger side, I noticed the carpet was wet. There was also a some drops of anti freeze on the horzontal bottom ende of the dash. Could this "smoke" be anti freeze on somthing hot? Considering the "smoke" only appears when the engine is on points in that direction I think. Any ideas????

Does the "smoke" smell sweet? If it does, it could be anti-freeze...

My 2 cents, you got a bad heater core.

Classic heater core symptoms. Give the fluid the "taste" test. Sweet? It's anti-freeze. It leaks not only onto the floor, but into the ductwork for the heater/defroster/AC. DON'T drink a gallon of the stuff...just wet your finger and give it a "lick". :) Chuck
