I just bought a 98 vet, they are going to fix the abs control module as the sevice message is on and lights are on. they are telling me that this module is not available. anyone got the answers to that one, or availability.

Welcome to the Corvette Action Center.

I'm going to move your thread to the C5 Tech forum for greater exposure.

You just bought the car and after the same, the service lights came on or you bought the car with the service lights on?

How long have you had the car?

First of all WELCOME TO CORVETTE ACTION CENTER. Mine is a 2000 and perodically mine has come on too but never has just stayed on, after turning the key off it resets and may not do it again for months, never have figured it out, doesn't seem to hurt anything. Had some tell me it probably a body ground problem ;shrug

Welcome to CAC. :w If it really is the ABS controller, seems to me that there is a place that will rebuild them. I'd have to do some searching to find who and where. But as I remember, the response was positive.

That's the one, thanks Jesse!:thumb

Haven't seen you in a while, Jesse. How are things going? Thanks for posting, saved me time searching (mostly my brain). ;LOL

Just in case...check to make sure all of the wires are plugged in at the wheels. Take them off, inspect them and spray some contact cleaner on both ends before plugging them back in.

I had the same problem with one car. It wound up being a bad connection at the left front wheel. The connection came off, rubbed against the road surface/and/or tire, then whomever plugged it back in never bothered to look at the worn out connector, so it was not making contact. The connector looked ok from underneath until I unplugged it and found out the real problem. Replaced the plug...everything OK.

It is a simple task and it's one check that's out of the way... AND you just never know!!!
