ABS etc

Has anyone ever had to replace the computer module that controls ABS etc.

I recently paid $3775.00 to do so.

The part itself costs $3000.00.

Does this sound out of line? Could I have driven it with ABS light on and not fixed

the problem?

I did fix it but am curious.

I think I paid less than half of that. I got mine through an extended warranty, so I don't recall the price. But I had the heater control and the ABS/active handling computer replaced for much less than $3775.

I did fix it but am curious.

Yeah,I sent mine off 2 weeks ago to be Up dated!!!!! Cost me around $200.00 and a Hr of my time with Fed-Ex and is guaranteed for as long as I own the car!! But as far as the EBCM go's it lists for $763.00 from GM and You Will have problems with it again!!!!So I sent mine off and had it Up Graded,it was back here in less than 48 hr!!

P.S. you got Grossly Over Charged!!

You would not have had ABS or active handling. That would have removed two major safety systems.
