Anybody planning to make it to Cleveland in June for this years CruiseFest?

Sure would be nice to see a few Callaway Cars make an appearance. AND what better way to support the Callaway Forum here at the Corvette Action Center :upthumbs

Here is a link to CruiseFest V ~ 2008 ~ Cleveland The dates and what is being planned can be found in this link.

Y'all are welcome to join in and enjoy the festivities. If this years CruiseFest is anything like the past 4, Well each one gets Better and Better. I think the Event Chairpersons go out of their way to outdue each other. Last year Colorado Springs was nothing short of spectacular :dance

:upthumbs ...having been to one of the :CAC CruiseFests, I can assure you that it is a memorable experience for sure!!!!!!

While the burnout the blender master shed was amazing, it was tough to breathe for awhile :eek :lou

There have been a few of the Callaway guys at the fests including Big John and Reuben, amongst others.

I wish I had made the one in Colorado :w

Hello Bud,

Nice to see you here on the Callaway forum :)
Could you change the Calaway into Callaway? :)

Sorry I won't be able to make it, I work for Six Flags and we don't take vacations in the summer time. :(

Yoda, I think it would be great if in the future there would be some COG participation. However, for this year we already have a long list of events that we agreed to participate. Going down the list of what has already been committed:

* Callaway Cars Open House ~ Callaway Cars - Old Lyme, Connecticut ~ spring 2008 ( Actual date T.B.D.)
- This event committed to and being planned since last year.

* C4 Gathering at the National Corvette Museum ~ May 8 - 10, 2008 - Info: HERE
- This event also committed since last year.

* Vettes on the Rockies ~ July 31 - August 3, 2008 - Stay tuned for more info...
- Being supported for a couple of years now.

* Callaway Gathering - Corvettes at Carlisle ~ August 22 - 24, 2008 - Info: HERE
- The annual Callaway Owners gathering and Corvette Mecca

* Mid America Motorworks Funfest ~ September 19 - 21, 2008 - Info: HERE
- Again, already an annual supported and planned event.

* Art and the Automobile: Featuring the cars of Callaway Cars Stylist, Paul Deutschman ~ October 2 - 5, 2008 - Info: HERE
- Also being planned since last year, centered around the styling of Callaway Cars. This will probably the pinnacle of any Callaway events ever since WE are in a way also the guests of honor and the event will combine the Styling of Callaway Cars with Art, Photography, Food, and Cultural exchanges.

WE LOVE THE CAC. It is our home. But I just heard of this event and in my opinion to add another event to our list is just too much for this year, without having to drop some other event that we have already agreed to participate in as a group. I at least cannot make it. Unless there is someone that is local or nearby that would agree to represent the group, I just cannot see this happening this year since we have already planned and budgeted for these other events. Now for next year I would say that we need to revisit our list.

Awe come on TurboLuigi, you don't have a thing between early May and end of July scheduled, CruiseFest is nicely right in the middle of the two! LOL

Seriously though, that's a nice list of events already...just curious, how many of the CAC Calloway owners will be at the C4 event at the NCM? Being less than two hours from there, this post of yours may have just added another event to my schedule of things for the year, one weekend after the spring dragon run.

You guys need to get out into the Action Center a little more.. This is the 5th Corvette Action CruiseFest and posts have been going on for the Cleveland CruiseFest since the conclusion of CruiseFest IV in Colorado Springs.

It's a fun event and allows members a chance to meet each other and enjoy why we own our Corvettes. The Traditional "Blender Wars" with Andre' at the helm is an event that is a must, esp. with anticipation of his New Concoction and rightfully named as the years Offical beverage ... the young man has talent, along with tearing up asphalt :eek

Join in if possible, then kick back and enjoy.

Rascal,

For me its is a matter of logistics, Florida is far from all of these events. Honestly, I think we are spreading ourselves too thin already. The more events, the less likelyhood that you will get a good turnout.

Heck, I would like to see COG support of events in the winter or spring time here in Florida but it is doubtful that other members would travel to participate in them.

Too many events.... too little play time. ;LOL Good problems to have.

Well it is too far to drive the Callaway and too expensive to ship.I will not be able to make it Maybe having something in the Northeast would be easier for me. Maybe next year.

I know what you are talking about. I drove from Modesto, California to our very first CruiseFest held at Auburn, Indiana, missed the second one which was at Bowling Green. Made the 3rd one from Amarillo, Texas, as a matter fact I drove up to Nebraska and picked up my brother and drove to Bowling Green, then last year my wife and I drove from Amarillo, to Colorado Springs..

Oh and I drove from Modesto, to Bowling green in 2001 and 2002 for "The Rendezvous and SharkFest" all these trips in my 1981 Corvette ;)

I look forward to this year in Cleveland, hooking up with other members and friends I met via the Corvette Action Center. Right now we are planning on driving our 03 Anniversary Vert, but leaving the 1981 at home just doesn't seem right :chuckle Ma says it's the 03 otherwise I go solo... hmmmm :W

It's as much fun and the adventure of crossing the USA in your Chevrolet is about as good as it gets, esp. when the Chevrolet is a Corvette ;)

I REMEMBER AUBURN!
WE HAD A BIG STORM AND THE LIGHTS WENT OUT!
RIDES IN THE NEW PREPRODUCTION C6!
IT WAS A GOOD TIME!

:w Big John,

Yea, and I remember the local PD watching, watching, watching... :boogie

As I remember you left in "Style" ;) and quite fast too ;) :Steer :lou

I lurk here in the "Callaway section" from time to time and would love to meet you guys. I was at CruiseFest 2 and 4 and have made plans for Cleveland. Hope to see some of you guys there.

Thought I'd give this one a ^bump^

I'll ^bump^ it again once the registration is online :D

Bud

I have been to every CF, and Bud is absolutely correct! Each one gets better and better!

I would never miss one, for fear of missing an absolutely incredible time!

The friendships I have made over the past years: PRICELESS!

SAVE THE :w

This will be my second CF and I don't want to miss any of them from now on; agree with LT4man, priceless (but there is some expense). I will be driving from Denver, so it has to be as far as Florida. Remo and Guy drove to the Springs and back (remember their daily postings on their jouney?); that is a long way. And Andre drove from/to Cleveland to the Springs, could we not do the same trip? At my age, I want to do as much Corvette events as possible, and I rank CF and the many friends I made as the best. You do not want to pass it up, ever IMHO.

Looking at the schedule, a LOT of hard work looks to have gone into the planning :cool

While the event date is in conflict with Bloomington Gold for me, I encourage other to attend and put a face with the (internet) names :w
