White 1994 Roadster, Purple Pearl 1998 Roadster
Just took delivery of a new 1998 Roadster in the rather rare Medium Purple Pearl Metallic color. My White 94 roadster was getting lonely with all the time I have been spending on the motorcycle.

Somewhere I read that of the 381 Vettes that were painted this color in 98 only 128 were roadsters. How do I verify how many of the convertibles with this color came with the Light Oak interior and Light Oak top??

The problem I am having is the car just doesn’t feel like a Corvette. No creaks or rattles or interesting noises. Any remedy for this problem??

Thanks,
Denny

Just drive the piss out of it!!:W

The rattles will come, hopefully a long time from now and minor at that. Now you will have to change your avatar to show both corvettes. It's great having two.

They replaced the creaks and rattles with rocking seats, column locks and few other things. It's all good :thumb. Congrats on the new toy!! You will love it even with the substitutions.

Congrats! Nice color too! You know we'll need pix soon. :_rock

Get a loud exhaust. That will help!

People tend to give me auto related items that match the car. The new Vette is Medium Purple Metallic. So far I have gotten a matching purple shirt, a purple California Duster and a selection of purple towels for the car. My other vehicles are white. I'm beginning to see a problem here.

I'm stopping this before I start getting purple underware or someone gives me a Barney.

Pictures of the car will be taken and posted in the near future once it's sitting still long enough.

I was actually given a barney once to go along with my vette...I him for target practice one afternoon and returned him to them.:boogie

(btw, the person that gave it to me already knew I hated that effin dinosaur or they wouldn't have done it to start with, so it all happened in fun friendly jest)

I had a medium purple pearl coupe. It's a great color, and looks good, but not too flashy. I think it was the ride I took to the first Cruise Fest I attended. Wish I had it back.

I like the color. I think the name is flashier than the actual color.:L

And I love Rascal's Black Rose C4!!:_rock

And you just had to go up to Sedona and blow the doors off everyone on 89A. Well done son, Well done. :w

Well, I have taken the C4 up 89A several times however the C5 has not yet made that trip. Obviously you are somewhat familiar with that road. Did you drive it all the way from Wickenburg up to Flagstaff or????

If you like 89A have you done the Devils Highway yet?? Formerly known as Route 666 it was renamed Route 191. I have not taken the Vettes up the road but did it last May on the motorcycle.

They claim it has over 1000 curves in a 260 mile stretch and most of them are in the first 65 miles on the South end of the Arizona side. I've Driven this and done Tail of the Dragon and this is much more challenging because of the dramatic changes in elevation in addition to all the switchback curves. Loose it here and you go over the side of a mountain.

Check it out.

I went to school at NAU and my room mate lived in Cottonwood. Along with the weekend trips to slide rock I have driven 89A many many many times. Wow what a fantastic road to just cruise on, beautiful scenery, good elevation change, a curve here and there :chuckle. One of these days I'll get the vette out that direction.

So when are we doing cruise fest in the SW? :rotfl

BTW gratz on the C5 and dont forget to :w

Considering many folks misconception about the SW it is difficult to get anyone to come out this way. They think it’s nothing but flat, hot desert environments without indoor utilities. You’ve been here and you know differently but it’s difficult to convince those who seldom venture West of ole Miss.

I have had several bad experiences with group road trip events primarily because someone always has to prove he is a better driver/rider than the rest. Twice this has lead to that person completing the trip in a helecopter. Since then I have adopted the Lone Wolf approach to touring whether it be in my Vette or on the motorcycle. Small groups who want to go to heaven but don’t want to rush that journey are fine. Large groups rushing to get there bother me.

While I am always cautious when attending group tour experiences, I would participate in a cruise that is held out here. I know that if properly advertised it would draw a lot of attention from local Corvette Clubs. Somewhere I read we have eight Corvette clubs in the Central Arizona area. It seems that almost every Chevy dealer sponsors one and we have a lot of Chevy dealers. There are a lot of day trips available such as route 89A, Route 191 Devils Highway, Route 66, or a trip up to and around the Grand Canyon to keep most happy.

If anyone is interested in hosting such an event I would assist in putting one together.

Life is a journey,
Enjoy the ride

June is pretty toasty in the Valley, although the cruising to the rim etc would be great. :beer
