Getting ready to get the 68 on the road and since I've been hanging around the Cobra Club here in town and being in them I'm itching to make this car handle optimally so I can KICK THERE BUTTS ON the track! So, I was looking to purchase this for my 68:

Has anyone purchased this kit? I like the fact that the ride height can be adjusted as I plan on putting 18 inch rims on it. Want it to hunker down nice and low to the ground as well. Any advice/thoughts would be much appreciated!

I have the duel mount rear and the front mono also with the upper and lower control arms on my custom 78.The ride and feel is great I am in the process of adding also some larger wheels and will play with it some. With the front up graded a arms you have a little less turning radius which they tell you, but who cares. What you are looking at is from vette brakes and as someone has said they will give you a break in the price if you order from them Gary Gonzalez can help you I hope he is still there. You do not have to order the kit the parts are sold seperate check out there web site.Hope I helped some.

Tires. I suggest starting there and THEN see how the car handles on some timed track sessions. Based on your experience then see what you need to correct as far as car handling goes. Throwing a complex suspension kit at a car sorta begs the question - what's wrong with it's current handlng that is trying to be remedied?

Keep in mind Cobras and kits are lighter than C3s.

Tru dat, but given the car has been sitting for years, and the fact that I will have to replace all the wearable suspension components anyway, why not upgrade to an overall better system ESPECIALLY knowing that I plan on being hard on the chassis/suspension. All that work and stuff with machine shop pressing is gonna run me close to $800-$900 anyhow, not including knowing that the original springs are presumably old and shot as well. So, all in all the additional expense, to me, is worth it to ensure I have optimality.

Also, its not like this is gonna be a driver with an occassional road race or two; its gonna be the opposite. Thought I'd do the smart thing and beef up the suspension accordingly.

Yes, some of this will be trial and error for sure. I have 18's on my IROC and the handle difference is amazing versus the 16's it came with. Plus, the 18's will simply look quite nice too!!!

Something is getting crossed I recommend you doing it. Look at the replies the person under my reply pgtr is saying something else. There is nothing better then upgrading and getting rid of old tech. You will loose some good wt also.I say go for it while you have to take it all apart anyway. If I can help I will.Good Luck
