I dont know if im blind today but i cant seem to find the air pumpad . Im going to remove it and would like to know exactly where it is!! Help!

Look between the TB and the altenator, it should be the big hunk of mess with all the hoses ect going to it.

Is it on the drivers side of the car? i have a chilton manual and i cant seem to find it even with that. I know its there because when i got my exhaust done he told me to take it off because i dont need it. Is it the thing right beside the alternator? Sitting in the same bracket?

Yea drivers side. Between the TB and the altenator.

I see it. I didnt think that was it:confused . Well by the looks of it you would need a kit to remove it wouldnt you? I was told that you can just do it yourself and plugs the ends of the hoses.

If you are going to remove it you either need a bracket with a pulley, or a shorter belt. The shorter belt might not be the way to go since you will be putting more strain on the altenator bearings. When I removed mine I had bought a bracket especially for removing the pump. I also removed all the hoses, pipes, fittings, and the other valve thing just on the other side of the TB. There is a hose that goes to a hard line that goes to the catalytic converter, with my headers the cat is gone so I removed the pipe and associated hoses. All together its about 20 lbs of stuff, it fits nicely in a box in the back of the garage though. :L

I got my bracket from Breathless Performance. Works real nice and swings the altenator outwards (towards the wheel well) which seems to help with the cooling of the altenator.

It really helped clean some of the "clutter" around the front of the engine. Don't ragg me about the valve covers I got some Super Purple cleaner on them about two weeks after I put them on I think they are 'ruint'

If you go with their (BPP) bracket you will need 10 - 12 inches of 10 guage (at least) which you will have to splice in because of the rotation of the altenator. I didn't like the way the power wires were just hanging so I used some wire loom I had. Worked out pretty good I was able to use the bracket and wrap the loom around it and my splice ... hides it pretty good.

If you want to start removing the crap around it, and keep the air pump on until you get the bracket that is fine too. Once you get it off you will realize how easy the pulley is to turn. But yes it makes things look so much better.

so it would be ok to take off the plastic black box with all those hoses on the passenger side? I wont throw any codes if the sensor and all the hoses are unplugged?

Shouldn't throw any codes. Make sure to cap all the un-used hoses just to ensure you don't end up with a vaccuum leak.

Hey Hrtbeat1 looking at your pics tell me about how did your KN filter directly to the throtle body. Does it get clean air sitting back that far?

Might be a while before we here from him, he was down on the coast where the hurricane hit. BTW he was able to connect that because his car uses a speed density sensor instead of Mass air flow.
