Another E-bay fraud

For those of us whose knowledge is focused on older Corvettes, please explain.
:)

Look closely, it's near the end of a rather long ad ... on Tuesday Jul-15-03 at 19:28:12 PDT, seller added the following information to the ad ... apologizing & disavowing ZR1 status:
PLEASE ACCEPT OUR APOLOGIES AS THIS WAS SOLD TO US VIA A MANHEIM AUCTION AS A ZR1 CORVETTE. THIS IS A LT1 CLEAN CORVETTE ! PLEASE BID ACCORDINGLY AND KNOW THIS IS NOT A ZR-1. WE ARE SORRY IF THIS HAS MISLEAD ANYONE.
There's plenty of fraud on eBay ... this seller appears as trying to be on the up & up.

There is an update on it now, it explains they now understand it is not a ZR1 and to bid accordingly
Yep:

PLEASE ACCEPT OUR APOLOGIES AS THIS WAS SOLD TO US VIA A MANHEIM AUCTION AS A ZR1 CORVETTE. THIS IS A LT1 CLEAN CORVETTE ! PLEASE BID ACCORDINGLY AND KNOW THIS IS NOT A ZR-1. WE ARE SORRY IF THIS HAS MISLEAD ANYONE.

What a fraud!
They should cancel that auction! all the bids where placed thinking it was a ZR1 (There are many people that does not know the physical differences between ZR1 & LT1)

Wonder if any bids will be retracted on this auction.
Blue book is 11-15.5k on this LT1 vette.

But like other stuff on Ebay, lots of times it goes for higher than its typical selling price.

I would be willing to bet that the guy that is selling this vette, who bought it thru another dealer/auction, bought it thinking it was indeed a ZR-1. So he probably should pull the auction and ask for a refund, unless he got a killer deal and is simply trying to make a bit of profit.

no telling honestly

I agree he probably honestly thought it was a ZR-1. But yet, what does that show you: not a very informed seller. The auction makes a strong point about how they are "the premier used-car dealer on eBay that specializes in unique high-end sports cars." Specialize in unique sports cars huh? And you don't know what an LT5 looks like? Sorry, if they don't know that, then what else don't they know about the car, or ANY "high end" sports car for that matter.......

They also wrote "has the optional V8 that was only found in ZR-1 Corvettes!" This shows they knew the ZR-1's engine was unique, and yet they didn't know what it is, which once again makes you wonder how well checked out this car really is....

They said they had their technicians check out the car. And not a single one of those people knew what an LT5 is? And they are the "premier unique high-end sports car" dealer? Hmmmm.......

The title also stresses the fact that it is a ZR-1 too strongly. The auction should be relisted.
