Another New Noise

Try this one out.

When starting out in the morning, I hear a scraping noise from the rear of my '81. Speeds up when I accelerate and stops when I let off the gas. It goes away after a few minutes when the car warms up..

I replaced rear spindles, bushings, u-joints,etc. last spring. Don't think it is the brakes because it stops when I let off the gas.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thats what it was with my 69.Wasn't all that big of a project.

Raise up the rear end, remove the wheels. Have someone in the car, start it up, put in in drive. Have driver slowly release brake pressure. See if you can isolate the sound that way. Noises can have a strange way of sounding like they are coming from someplace where they aren't.

Now don't spend that 2¢ all in one place!
