The questions about how the fenders really look keep coming by eMail, so rather than answer them one by one, here's another look (taken on body-drop day some months back).

The fenders almost look stock, don't they? Just how wide are those tires? :D

And, from a slightly different angle. They're more obvious now, right?

The tire tread is almost 11" wide on the rear....9.5" on the front.

After the engine drop, the front lowered about 1.5". The ease of raising or lowering the front and rear with the new VBP suspension is simply amazing.

Once I've had a chance to roadtest the car for a while, I may experiment with different offsets.

Top - '65 with standard body, suspension and wheels.

Bob You know I was up north last month.Well I have to return in oct or nov and plan on inviting my self to your garage to see 67 heaven in person

It'll be back to the paintshop this winter. About a three inch crack in the fiberglass putting the driver's rear bumper on this evening - just above the bumper and outboard of the taillights. It was probably due to too much, or not enough, shimming on the frame-to-bumper brackets.

Funny, I've been through so much on this project, it doesn't phase me much. :)

With base/clear, that one crack could cost several thousand dollars. :crazy

Not being a painting pro, I'm wondering how you blow it in without cutoff points?

These cars have nowhere to stop without going all the way around.
 
THAT is the beauty of BC/CC. It is far easier to fix than you would think. One technique is to overspray the area and thin the paint/clear down progressivly as you go along. Then sand and buff it back out. Should be an easy fix - don't worry bout' it.

And you said the fiberglass is actually cracked ? And not just the paint ?

The body man dropped by on Saturday and agreed that there wasn't much fiber at that joint. You may remember we had to remove the raised fiberglass piece "from behind the bumpers" on the original rear fenders. The racing fenders didn't come with them.

When bonding these pieces on, I think that area got too much sealer and not enough fiber. They'll happily redo it.

Please... move away from the car and seek help. This is not normal behavior. You should have, at the very least, thrown a wrench through the garage window.

I also have a red coupe with a fiberglass crack in the same location. Damn red coupes...... except I think My rear end has been smashed in the past.

I think I would drive it enough to get everything settled in before going back to the paint shop, you don't want to make two trips. Your luck is a lot like mine "if it wasn't for bad luck I would have none at all";LOL With all the extensive Mods you have made you never know what will turn up after driving it.

you may want to drive it awhile to let everything settle in before you take it to the body shop in case there are other thin spots, enjoy it for a while; when everything is working the way you want it then fix that little crack.

I'm reluctant to drive it in case the crack "travels".

We're installing the fuel line connections, regulators, pressure gauges, etc. tomorrow evening; there's some wiring (fuel pump, electric cooling fans, etc. to terminate); some other odds and ends and then KaBoOm! :crazy
