88 coupe. Bought the mast, followed instructions can't get the nut to loosen.
Questions:
1. Do you slip the tool between the rubber grommet or do you remove the grommet. If so, how?
2. Car purchased new Nov 87 and assuming it is a Harada. Husband is going to pull wheel well to check to make sure not an 87 antenna. He would prefer not to do that ,if anyone can get on.

3 Also, unrelated question: Have noticed comments about other corvette sights. Could somebody post addresses? All I care about is how to repair or fix, nothing else.

I thank you in advance and wife really thanks you advance, as it is her damn car.

Go to
www.google.com
and search for Corvette. Lots of all kinds of info including sites.
Don't know about the antenna.
Good luck

Thank you all for your help
I got it in and it was a Harada.
Two main problems
1. Tool (to remove nut) was defective and I ended up using needle nose to get nut off. If I still had good eyesight I would not have needed to do the post.
2. The only thing none of the manuals or instructions mentioned was how to get the old mast out once the nut was off. I was fully prepared to buy a complete new assembly, so I just yanked like hell and it came out.

This is Mrs. 5 pinball talking now. Someone I used to work with bought a C5 and had an 86 convertible antenna mast ribbon that he gave to me. But obviously it wouldn’t fit the 88 Harada. Anybody who wants it can have it, just pay postage. It is still brand new. (It is the round cable with the metal hook on the end of it)

This will sure make putting groceries in the car easier now that the antenna goes down. I love my Vette and I don't like his (they are manuals and I still can’t drive them).

Again, thanks guys, this is a great site.
